Pyrethre: Pest Terminator

By Nur Syahid History The pyrethre herb is supposedly named after a famous temple in ancient Greece called Parthenon, hence the name Parthenium. In the 13th century, Welsh physicians used pellitory (pyrethre) as a remedy for toothache. It was also mentioned by Arabian medical writers and is a favorite remedy in the East. An old superstition held that it was planted around dwellings to purify the air and ward off diseases. Ecology Otherwise known as feverfew, pellitory or chrysanthemum parthenum, pyrethre has round, leafy branching stem that bears alternate, bipinnate leaves (having ovate divisions) with deeply cut segments. Each plant bears one flower, with yellow disks measuring an inch and 10 to 20 toothed rays, much like the daisy. The plant grows 1 to 3 feet tall. Pyrethre gives off a distinctive, bitter and pungent smell and taste. This plant is native to Southeastern Europe and America. It is often cultivated but occasionally it can be found wild in waste places, roadsides and wood borders throughout North America. Health Notes Legends and superstitions aside, this plant is a proven pest repellant. Some people plant it in their garden as a means of pest control. Insects like bees are said to dislike this plant and keep their distance. In fact, the insecticide property of the feverfew plant is known as pyrethrin, hence its namesake. The pellitory (pyrethre) root has a pungent smell and is efficient in relieving toothache and promoting saliva flow. This is done with the tincture made from the dried root and may be applied to cotton wool and rubbed on the gums. The powdered root can be used to cure chronic catarrh and nostrils by encouraging flow of nasal mucous and tears. Other uses include relieving headaches, migraines, arthritis, indigestion and muscle tension. Its antispasmodic characteristic makes it traditionally useful in treating menstrual discomfort. The plant contains chemicals that calm the smooth stomach muscles of the digestive tract. It is recommended after a hearty meal. Your Plan For Marketing Success

By Joe Love The most important, yet overlooked aspect of marketing is an actual written marketing plan A business simply cannot succeed without marketing. Whether you are a one person business or have 50 employees, you simply must have a marketing plan to succeed. Just as a business plan is a blue print for the overall success of your business, your marketing plan is the blueprint for your marketing success. Marketing without having a clear and user-friendly marketing strategy is like stringing beads without tying a knot at the end of the string. Your strategy should guide your efforts for a minimum of three years; a good plan should really last ten or more years. The marketing plan is a plan within your business plan. In the marketing plan you must quantify the benefits your customer gets from buying your product or service. You must establish the size of your market. Also, your competition must be evaluated and assessed. In other words, you must be customer-oriented or market driven. Your plan should explain the benefits your product or service has to your customer, how your customer will profit or gain from product or service. Explain why your customers will buy your product over those of your competitors. A good marketing plan should contain six sections: 1. Description of the market. Who are the customers and why will they buy your product or service? Explain what perceived need you fill in your target market. What is your market niche? How will you position your product or service? Your positioning strategy must be elaborated in detail. Your marketing plan must show a deep knowledge and understanding of your market. Do you know all the factors that will effect your sales? Describe in detail the background of your industry, including its size, chief characteristics, trends, and major customers. Project any changes inside or outside your industry that will affect your business. Dont forget to describe your prospective customers in detail, including their demographics and psychographics. Remember, businesses dont buy products or services, people do. You must understand all about those decision makers. 2. Customer benefits. What are the benefits of your product or service to the customer? In talking about benefits, you must relate them to the customer and to the competitors products or services. Here are some of the ways to do that. Your product or service is better than the competitions because it is: (1) cheaper, (2) better quality, (3) more efficient, (4) convenient to use, (5) has fewer rejects or breakdowns, (6) reduces the customers labor costs, (7) lowers the customers inventory costs, (8) improves the customers productivity, (9) improves the customers performance, (10) saves the customer money or time or both, (11) entertains the customer, (12) improves the customers appearance or health, (13) solves problems, and (14) generates profits. 3. Market Share. What are your assumptions about your market share? When explaining market share, instead of just stating what percentage of the market you intent to capture, employ a bottom-up approach. Based on sales projections, using specific customers. A common mistake made by most people discussing market share is assuming they can predict sales by gathering some general numbers on the size of the market, then projecting share from there. The old statement we only want 1% of the market does not cut it anymore. You must explain in detail just how you will arrive at your market share. Document your assumptions with marketing research. 4. Competition. Who is your competition? Compare their products and services to yours, and outline your strategies to sell more than they do. Explain how difficult it is to compare with you. Dont underestimate, ignore, or downplay the competition. Everybody has competition, and if you think you dont, then you obviously dont comprehend the weaknesses of what youre trying to accomplish, and you probably wont be in business for very long. 5. The sales strategy. This is one of the most critical parts of the marketing plan. You can have the greatest technology in the world but if you cant figure out how to get it into the customers hands, youve got nothing! The world will not beat a path to your door just because you have a better product or service! You have to sell the world on buying your product or service. If you think of marketing as strategy and selling as tactics, you have a good idea of what you should put into your plan. How are you going to get your prospects to buy your product or service? You must describe the nuts and bolts of your selling process. What is your distribution process? How will your service and support your product? Explain the selling process step by step, from distribution to sales to servicing of sales. What is your sales strategy? How is your company going to approach its prospects and capitalize on its potential? Go into detail about how your product or service will be sold and/or distributed. How will you advertise and promote your product or service? If possible get and add the actual reaction of some prospects to your product or service? List in detail all your plans for distribution, geographical penetration, roll-out schedule, and future locations. Discuss in detail the pricing strategy youve developed to make your product or service competitive yet still generate ample profits. Identify your prospects, your selling strategy, the size of and the compensation for your sales force, your selling cycle, and both your short and long-term goals you want to achieve. 6. Proprietary protection and uniqueness. Explain what makes your company stand out from the rest. The degree of uniqueness is a major strength in your entire marketing strategy. Explain the range of protection against competition, including patent and copyright protection. What is your strategy to create barriers for others in your market beyond patent and copyright protection? Describe any available technology that is superior or equal to yours. What creative technology or research are you going to do to provide future sales? Armed with a detailed marketing plan, you can develop your creative and media strategies. With a marketing plan in place, the other two strategies virtually write themselves. With them, your marketing materials virtually write themselves, too. And your media decisions are much easier to make. It is very important that every person in your company know each word of your marketing plan, so that they can help carry the banner forward with you. You should invite everyone in your organization to participate in the creation of the marketing plan. With everyones involvement, before and after, you have the assurance, that everyone in your organization is completely clear about the goals and essence of the business. You should review your marketing plan every quarter or at the minimum every six months. Make adjustments in your plan only to account for changing market conditions. The fewer changes you make, the more likely you got it right the first time. Take the time to put your marketing plan together carefully so you get it right the first time. A Guide For Catching More Smallmouth Bass

By Steven Vonbrandt They have spent more than 35 years fishing the lakes, streams, and rivers of the United States in search of largemouth and smallmouth bass. They have guided clients to numerous trophy smallmouth here in the northeast, and have entered enough trophy fish to be inducted into the N.A.F.C. Hall Of Fame in 2003. In this article, Steve and Kurt of Reeltime Anglers Guide Service, will share some of their best tips to help you understand and catch more and bigger smallmouth bass here in the northeast. Time and time again over the years, we have listened to many anglers and clients express their frustration at trying to catch small mouth bass. Most anglers don’t realize that these fish have their own set of rules that are different than a largemouth, and that is what sets them apart.The biggest differences between a smallmouth and a largemouth bass are as follows: If you fish for smallmouth here in the northeast, especially in the Susquehanna river in Maryland, you will find that smallmouth bass do not stick that tight to cover. This is even more apparent in some of our slack water reservoirs. Smallmouth relate much more to a sudden or rapid depth change than they do cover. When we fish for largemouths, we are all taught to fish brushpiles and thick weedbeds, but small mouth bass are more likely to be caught on a rock ledge that drops off quickly from about six to twelve feet. This totally different than on the faster moving waters on the Susquehanna or other smallmouth rivers down the east coast. Heading to the river: When fishing in the reservoirs here such as Conowingo, or in the rivers like the Susquehanna, small mouths are sometimes caught shallow, but they are seldom more than 10-20 yards away from deep water. Everywhere we go, we see the majority of bass anglers beating the shoreline, and as this may work for largemouth bass most of the time, if you are after big small mouth bass, turn around and cast to the open water rather than beat the shore. Unlike largemouth, smallmouth often group together by size. We found that if we were catching smaller fish, in the eleven to fourteen inch range, we rarely caught a big one in the same area. On the other hand, when we caught a small mouth that was above four or five pounds, many times there were several that size and even larger swimming right along with them. Big largemouth bass are loners, usually found by themselves on the best piece of structure, while larger smallmouth bass will often school together. There are several things that tell you that smallmouth bass are much better suited for strong current than largemouth. For one, their pointed noses and the sharp angle of their fins are indicators that they are more suited to current. They often get behind a rock or stump and rush out to feed. Largemouth can adapt somewhat to current, but are much more at home in slack water. SPRINGTIME: When the water temperatures start to reach about 45 degrees, here in the northeast that happens around mid to late March, we start looking for big smallmouth bass. Water temperature is critical this time of year, as just an increase of a few degrees can really turn smallmouth on. In the spring, in Maryland, and especially in New York, our two best baits for small mouth are the hair jig, usually in black or brown, and a Yamamoto grub, in smoke or chartreuse. We fish these baits in about six to twelve feet of water where there are clay or gravel flats. When smallmouth start moving up out of deeper water they are spooky, so stealth is very important. Don’t drop anything on the bottom of the boat, and keep the trolling motor on as low as possible. The best method is to cast shallow and retrieve the lure slowly back towards the deeper water. Slowly is the key word here. In cold water, a slow, steady retrieve is deadly for big smallmouth. When the water starts to get above 50 degrees, the smallmouth will start to move around the flats more. Some of the best spots for smallmouth don’t really look very good to the average angler that is used to fishing for largemouth. The better areas are just some pea gravel or some clay with maybe a stump or two, but fish these areas slowly now, and you will connect with a big smallmouth. Swimming a Yamamoto grub in these type of areas is absolutely deadly at these water temperatures. Keep working these areas slowly and don’t move too quickly, and you will hook one of the better smallmouth in the area. Many times here in the northeast, we get a lot of heavy rains, which really muddies up the water such as the Susquehanna River and flats. This can really ruin a lot of the small mouth fishing, but finding clearer water can produce good fish even under these adverse conditions, as we proved earlier this year out on the flats. By searching out some clear water in the same type of areas, we connected with several big fish while we were hearing nothing but complaints from other anglers. In lakes or reservoirs, as well as the rivers, if you move to the back of creek arms and crank the advancing mudline, you can still connect with good fish. Another thing that works well in these situations is slow rolling a spinnerbait, such as a Terminator T-1, in 3/8 ounce or smaller, along the banks that are windblown that contain some chunk rock. This has always worked well in various parts of the country for many years. SPAWN: Smallmouth will spawn when the water is about sixty to sixty-five degrees, and they like to do it on gravel flats, clay points, humps, and protected bays. They spawn anywhere from about two to six feet deep here, but most of the time they are too deep to see on their beds in most rivers in the northeast, but in New Englad and some New Jersey and maryland Lakes, you can see them many times. When fishing for argemouth on beds, such as in Delaware and Maryland, the largemouth have to be finessed into striking many times. I watch some good anglers take at least 30 minutes to catch one fish on a bed, but think about this? One 3-4 pound Smallmouth every hour in the tournament?? 8 Nice Smallmouth and a few largemouth to choose from to make that 17-21 pound bag, which is not uncommen anymore on the Upper Chesapeake Bay tournaments and especialy the Finger Lakes of New York. It is really very simple to catch large bedding smallmouth by swimming a smoke or chartreuse colored Yamamoto grub or even a small “Senko” across their beds, and many times a Lucky Craft CBBDS crankbait in chartreuse/black. We always practice catch and release, and if you want to continue to enjoy this type of fishing, releasing them right away after they are caught is crucial. POST-SPAWN: When the water temperatures reach sixty-eight to seventy-two degrees, you can really catch quite a few good sized smallmouth in the daytime even in bright sun. The small mouth move into two different patterns at this time and really smash top water baits such as Zara Spooks. They will either hold near the bedding areas or on the outer edges of flooded bushes, and nail Spinnerbaits and floating worms, or they suspend between two points on main lake flats. Either way, these lures and methods will provide some great daytime action. SUMMER: Here in the northeast, the smallmouth action really slows down during the hot summer months. When we aren’t with a client here, or fishing a tournament trail that demands all of our attention, we usually head south towards lakes like Pickwick in Alabama. We have had great success here throughout the years in the summer months. There is a lot of current at Pickwick, and it keeps the water much cooler, and very well oxygenated, and this is key in catching big smallmouth. The best places here are on the channel drops and offshore rock piles. If you don’t know this area, it is best to hire a guide unless you are planning on spending more than a few weeks there and enjoy the challenge of trying to locate these areas yourself. It is usually very hot and humid this time of year, and we would rather fish for them at night as we do the largemouth here this time of year. Smallmouth move onto humps and roadbeds looking for crawfish and a Yamamoto spider grub on a jighead is our best lure at this time. Another good bait is the Terminator night bait, a single Colorado blade in black, and it works well in many areas at this time of year at night. At night, we do catch some smallies shallow at times, but you are still better concentrating your efforts in about six to fifteen feet of water. FALL: By October, the lakes and rivers around here are about sixty-eight to seventy degrees, and the fish are suspending in the deeper water a little more. After there are a few nights where the temperatures start to really drop the water temperatures, the smallmouth start to become far more catchable. Long points that run out into the river channel are perfect spots to use a crankbait to catch these smallies-especially on the windy days. We also take good size smallmouth on blade baits and spinnerbaits that are suspended on rock banks. WINTER: When the water temperatures are about 50-54 degrees here, usually about mid November, the smallmouth we have caught were always on a point with a fast taper into deeper water. If the smallmouth are in water deeper than fifteen feet, we throw a blade bait or tailspinner, if they are shallower than that, we throw the Yamamoto grub again. We always load these baits with a new product called Megastrike, which is a revolutionary new advance in scent technology. When the water starts to drop below fifty degrees again, the smallmouth become a little more lethargic and start suspending off points and sloping banks. We use a “Hammerhead hair jig” then, or a drop-shot rig with a grub for these fish. Sometimes when these tactics fail, (and they do when the water temperatures drop below forty degrees), we then reverse our tactics and try larger baits such as a big jointed Rapala or similar type bait. We have even caught them trolling these bigger baits this time of year. Although the action is slow, many times the fish are giant! AND NOW,? THE HARD PART!: Locating and then catching big smallmouth is pretty hard in the Susquehanna. That is why it is so much fun. Hopefully by reading some of these methods you have gained a better understanding of where these trophy fish go and somewhat of the forage they are looking for, and of course, this will hopefully get you the fish of a lifetime. Remember, get out early and late in the year and brave the elements, hit these prime areas with the baits we described, and remember most of all, you are after a completely different fish, so you have to think in different terms to be successful. How To Keep Your Chainsaw Working Longer By Looking After It’s Parts

By Dean Caporella Chainsaw parts can often present problems in respect to finding the right parts when they need to be replaced and many times, woodcutters can incur unnecessary espense by simply going out and buying a new chainsaw. Preserving chainsaw parts comes down to good maintenance practices; maintaining and looking after your saw on a regular basis will ensure the vital components are preserved longer and will give you greater service. Ignore general maintenance and it not only becomes expensive and frustrating but safety issues can come into play. When purchasing a chainsaw, it’s good practice to buy from a dealer which provides back up service and parts. While powerful, chainsaws are not excessively big machines but produce enormous amounts of power. Heating could be a problem however, flywheels reduce a lot of the heat stress. Other chainsaw parts include the clutch, decompression valves and throttle valves which all have an important part in the performance of the machine. Maintenance of chainsaw parts should be done on a regular basis. Sharpening of a dull chain, checking the fuel system and making sure it’s clear of unwanted contaminants, checking the chain system for correct tension, air filters, spark plugs and making sure the muffler is clean and undamaged on a regular basis will all help to preserve the vital parts of a chainsaw. Don’t forget, maintenance of chainsaw parts is not just about checking them regularly. When your machine is not in use, storage is also an important factor. If your machine is in limbo for any length of time, you’ll need to perform tasks such as draining the fuel tank as well as from the carby line and draining the machine’s oil. (visible and hidden) Fortunately, veteran quilters have paved the way for beginner quilters by devising tips and techniques for saving time and reducing mistakes. It is advisable for a beginner quilter to compile as many tips and strategies as possible. When these quilting tips are reviewed, mistakes that once caught the beginner quilter by surprise, can now be avoided or at least reduced. There are tips and techniques for almost every step in the quilting process. There are also quilting tips that apply to the tools used in making a quilt. Some of the most popular tips for beginning quilters are: 1) Choosing fabric the adage you get what you pay for definitely applies. Avoid the cheap fabric because often times these products will contain inconsistent, loose, thin, and dull colored threads. Shrinking problems is also a common problem with cheap fabric. 2) Choosing a good quality fabric should be soft and heavy, crisp colors and clear designs. The weave of a high quality should be consistent and smooth. If using fabric with metallic prints, the metallic material should not flake. 3) When marking a fabric, do not use a pencil, pen, or wash-out markers because these mediums will not wash out and can destroy the fabric over time. The popular choice for quilters is chalk. 4) When using a needle, sometime it is hard to grip. A simple solution is to cut a finger tip from a latex glove and use on finger that holds the needle. 5) When storing pins and needles, insert into plain bar of soap. The soap prevents rust and also coats the needles with a film of soap. This makes the pins smooth and will be able to go through multiple layers of fabric and batting. 6) Always use the same ruler throughout the project. This helps prevent measurement errors. 7) Use sandpaper underneath fabric and rulers. This helps to lessen the chance of slipping and inaccuracy. 8) Rotary cutters are a very important tool and are the source of many mistakes made in quilting. Some tips to help with this tool include: keep spare blades on hand, always keep the blade covered, use the rotary cutter while standing sitting or leaning can cause crooked cuts, avoid cutting pins because pins nick the blade which leads to imperfect cuts. The beginner quilting tips listed above is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the time saving techniques that can be applied to any project. Franchise Agreements and Marketing Areas

By Lance Winslow Some franchising companies will use the method of selling master franchisees in specific regions to expand their brand-name and grow their companies. Each time a master franchisees sold a new marketing area in region of influence will be established, where the master franchises will in turn sell other franchises. The marketing area will need to be clearly defined and delineated on a map and a description of what the marketing area will consist of must also be clearly stated in the franchising agreements. It is for this reason that below I have listed a clause which I put into our franchise agreements for our master franchises which discusses the marketing area for master franchise operations; 1.2 Marketing Area Franchisee is hereby granted a nonexclusive Marketing Area defined by geographic boundaries as determined by Franchisor in its sole discretion after giving considerations to relevant demographic information, including the number of vehicles, population and demographics, the actual boundaries of which are set forth on Exhibit 1 attached to this Agreement. Franchisee may not conduct any advertising that is circulated outside the Marketing Area or otherwise solicit customer accounts that are located outside the Marketing Area without the prior written consent of Franchisor. Franchisee may not solicit customers within the Marketing Area with respect to Services that would be provided to such customers both within and outside the Marketing Area (such customer being referred to as a National or International Account) without the prior written consent of Franchisor. In the event Franchisee enters into an agreement to provide Services to a National or International Account, Franchisees agreement in respect thereof must provide that Services for locations other than in the Marketing Area must be subcontracted to other Car Wash Guys Franchisees in their licensed marketing areas (Other Franchisees), if any. Franchisor, in its discretion, may establish other Franchisees who may advertise and solicit customer accounts within the Marketing Area and who may be in competition with Franchisee. In addition, Franchisor retains the right to solicit and sell National or International Accounts within the Marketing Area, including but not limited to solicitation and sales via direct marketing campaigns, telemarketing, and by use of the Internet and other on-line computer networks. Franchisee may not, directly or indirectly, sell, offer to sell, or provide any of the Services to any person or legal entity that is under contract with, is a current customer of, or was invoiced within the previous six (6) months (Customer Accounts) by, another Car Wash Guys Franchisee who has been granted a marketing area that overlaps (in part or whole) with the Marketing Area described in this Section 1.2 and Exhibit 1 of this Agreement (Overlapping Franchisee). The provisions of this paragraph shall apply only to Customer Accounts in which the customer is located in both Franchisees Marketing Area and in a Overlapping Franchisees marketing area (Overlapping Territory), and are intended to be broadly interpreted to prevent Franchisee from directly or indirectly interfering with any of the customer relationships that have been established by an Overlapping Franchisee in Overlapping Territory. The provisions of this paragraph shall not apply if Franchisee obtains written permission, granted by the President, Vice President or Continent Franchisor Director (CFD) of the Franchisor, to engage in conduct that otherwise is prohibited in this paragraph. If Franchisee violates any of the provisions of this paragraph, Franchisee shall pay to the Overlapping Franchisee(s) forty-three point five percent (43.5%) of the revenue derived from the Customer Accounts that caused Franchisee to violate this paragraph. Such revenue must be paid to the Overlapping Franchisee(s) with ten (10) calendar days of receiving such revenue, for so long as Franchisee receives revenue from those Customer Accounts. Medical Conflicts-of-Interest: A Thing of the Past

By Joseph Kraft, MD Recently I had been asked to give my opinion about a new breakthrough nutritional supplement that is being aggressively marketed through network marketing programs. As a physician who tries earnestly to be objective about what I see in the mainstream press, I have come to realize that the medical community no longer adheres to the high standards that not long ago were seen as a moral high ground. Now, I am seeing my physician colleagues becoming spokespersons for multi-billion-dollar network marketing programs. Is there such thing as a conflict-of-interest anymore? This question is not rhetorical. Has our society completely embraced the idea that it is OK for a physician to prescribe a medicine or supplement that he himself is selling and getting profits from? Have we, as a society decided that there needs not be any distinction in moral conduct between a physician and any other salesman? It seems apparent to me that this is the case. One quick perusal of the medicine and healing isle at your local Barnes and Noble bookstore will demonstrate this. So why has this change taken place and what does it mean for people that are seeking the truth in medicine? The Cause of the Moral Decline in Medicine: First, 21st century physicians have to work harder and longer for less money. Due to the increasing amount of legal documentation that must accompany each patient encounter, fewer patients can be seen in any given day. I now spend approximately 2/3 of my time doing paperwork and 1/3 actually caring for patients. This has also affected the amount of time that can be spent with each patient. Also, insurance and medicare reimbursements are steadily decreasing. This, combined with skyrocketing malpractice premiums has resulted in a progressive decline in physician income over the past 20 years. I believe that this is one reason that physicians are looking at other opportunities to utilize their medical degree to make a living, and I cant blame them for that. Second, the American public has been so indoctrinated into our paternalistic medical system that they cannot conceive that a physician would actually abandon his oath to society and make recommendations to patients based on his own financial returns rather than on sound medical judgement. This blind faith has been appreciated by physicians over the centuries, but times have changed. Most physicians today are not the public servants of yesterday that would go out at all hours of the night to render aid to the sick and ailing. No, most of todays physicians are in groups and practice arrangements that are designed to limit their time commitment to their patients thus allowing them more family time. As a family man myself (married 22 years with 8 children), this has been a real struggle for me and was the main reason that I had to leave primary care to become an ER physician with no primary patients to be committed to. The oath that I took when I graduated from medical school (the oath of Geneva) clearly put my patients wellbeing ahead of my own or my family. This is a tough oath to take or to live by, but physicians over the generations have taken it. It is this dedication to patients that has created our extremely paternalistic medical environment. We tend to take whatever recommendation our physician gives as unadulterated, educated, and well thought through advice that could never be bought or sold for anything as immoral as financial gain. If you therefore accept these two facts: first, physicians are making less money by traditional practice techniques, and second, physicians are still inherently trustworthy in the public eye, then it is no wonder that todays physicians have a great opportunity to utilize this blind trust as a means to market medicine related products to a lay public. Then, as in a perfect storm, the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994 enacted by congress allowed nutritional supplements to be sold to the American public without any testing for efficacy or safety. This simply means that now physicians can utilize the trust that has been bestowed upon them to promote to unsuspecting customers (formerly referred to as patients) products that have not yet been shown to be effective or safeand they are making millions doing it. So what does this mean for the average American? Please be skeptical of any advice from anybody (and now this even includes medical doctors) promoting products that they are making money from. Look at the facts and get second opinions. After all, you dont believe everything that is thrown at you by the plaid-jacketed used car salesman and now this applies to physicians as well. Before buying nutritional supplements or miracle remedies, you should always consult the opinion of your own personal physician that has your best interest in mind. If you are concerned, then medical advice is the ONLY answer not the internet. You are usually going to be safer at a tanning salon, because you wont be able to stay in the bed for long periods. But if you have a home tanning bed, then its all too easy to lounge in the tanning bed for much longer. But if you do this, youre putting yourself at serious risk. Its foolish to spend more than the recommend times under the UV rays. Tanning beds can be an effective way of maintaining that golden tan, and if its important to you, you will want to maintain it. But you must do so safely, and fully understand the risks youre subjecting yourself to.
